It has just been brought to my attention that Walk The Moon's "Shut Up And Dance" has shattered the record for most weeks on the chart. On the January 28th chart, SUAD drops out after an astonishing 58 consecutive weeks on the chart! SUAD becomes the first song to spend a full year on the cahrt and also spent a full calendar year on the chart (all of 2015). The song debuted on December 18, 2014, which was the week Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" took over the top spot.
The previous record was held by Leona Lewis whose debut single "Bleeding Love" stayed in the top 40 for 48 weeks. BL debuted November 1, 2007 (the week Britney Spears' "Gimme More" spent its lone week at #1) and spent its last week on the chart on September 25, 2008.
To add to SUAD's success is that it debuted the same week as another monster song that has long since bowed out. Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk."
Congrats to Shut Up And Dance, now let's dance to it's success!!

I liked it but I'm so bored of it now.
